Thank you so much for this info, I too have kept booting to winders to use my 
acer scanner, (and since I paid $50.00 for the canner, it was worth it to me) 
but since your post I have ordered my powerpack for 8.2. damn will be sweet 
to be rid of billy's soft. I will check to see if this is compatable w/8.1
