Hi, I hope nobody minds if I jump in on this ....

Why do I use linux? Easy!

1.) Multitasking that really Works!!!! (go ahead and try and format a floppy
in ANY windows version and then try and do something else ....)

2.) Low cost. I am constantly on a budget and need to squeeze every penny. I
can download Mandrake for free and take advantage of the latest software
without breaking the bank. (Even so I am planning to buy 8.2 power pack when
its released. Still cheaper than windows)

3.) Heres the biggy ! With the basic windows install how many apps do you
get? Lets see ... Explorer, Notepad, Mediaplayer, Moviemaker ... and two or
three games. Not much else! When I install Linux I hardly have to install
any other apps. If I find something else that I need I can usually find an
app that does what I want, and I dont have to worry about licencing fees, or
annoying Shareware nag screens. I can run my my machine with a clean
consience.

4.) if something doesnt work, I can fix it. I have many more options than I
do with windows. Heres a question, in windows what do you do if you cant find
a software driver for an older piece of hardware for lets say Windows XP ???
Your screwed! (been there done that!) In Linux I can call on the millions of
Linux users accross the world to help, most likely someone else has had the
same problem and has written a driver, or can tell me how to do it myself to
get it working. I have the code for Linux, I cant afford to pay Microsoft the
$$$ to get theirs.

5.) Linux doesnt spy on me. (nuff said)

6.) I can configure the Operating System to run the way I want it to, instead
of being forced to use a system that is basicly just a cookie cutter clone of
everyone elses

7.) I like Penguins!

8.) It is more stable than the Windows Alternative

9.) Its also more secure and safer from virus attacks.

10.)I just like being different.

Any questions ??????
