Well, I don't know what kind of mainboard you have, mine is Abit BP6 + TNT2 32M + 2.4.8-26mdksmp + NVIDIA 1.0-1541. It works fine here.
Please tell me the results of 'cat /proc/nv/card0'. I suppose AGP module causes your problem. Use AGPGART by 'Option "NvAGP" "2"' instead of NVIDIA's AGP.
