For those who care.
For me the big salient point of the DVD release was the inclusion of Mandrake(ized) installation RPM's for: Blender 2.2.x Nvidia Drivers Realplayer 8.0 FlashPlayer Opera-5.0 Unstuffit-5.0 Xb-6.2.1 The Realplayer8.0-2mdk-i586.rpm and Flashplayer RPM's integrate into Konqueror, Mozilla and Netscape. Opera does not find Realplayer by default. All install themselves into the menus, and modify the mime links, etc required to get everything to work properly saving a lot of hassles. Does anyone know where this stuff is available, in MDK form for the non DVD owners? The rest of the "commercial" software is nothing but demos. If you do not need the source RPM's, the DVD is (IMHO) not worth it. But that's just my $02 worth. Thanks. -JMS
