The loaded module list you have is way too small.

Check out mine...

This in turn means you did NOT load all of the required RPMs...

Did you install ALL of the ALSA RPM's?

Do you have "sound" being started as a service upon bootup?

Did you COLD BOOT as I indicated, before configuring?

Here is my /etc/modules.conf

alias net-pf-4 ipx
alias autofs autofs4
pre-install pcmcia_core CARDMGR_OPTS=-f /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start
alias usb-interface usb-uhci

I added the joystick options...

|Subject: [expert] SB Live! - no midi devices in kde
|
|
|Hi all
|I have a new SB Live!
|I have followed the instructions of JMS from this list, but
|kde control
|panel does not show any midi device.
|The midi and karaoke player does not show any midi device,
|too. The instructions were:
|- Unload all sound modules (I have done it removing entries in
|/etc/modules.conf, chkconfig --del sound chkconfig --del alsa and
|rebooting).
|- Using HardDrake to configure the soundcard
|- Adjust volumes in kmix and save volumes
|- Load soundfont with sfxload
|Now I can play midi files using playmidi -a file.mid, but the kde
|control panel does not show any midi device, and I can't use any midi
|device on kde apps.
|What are I missing?
|Thanks,
|scar.
