It may be that it's looking for the mod files in the wrong place...

I.E.

/lib/modules/2.4.8/kernel/drivers/sound 

Instead of /lib/modules/2.4.8-26mdk/kernel/drivers/sound

This frequently happens if you've upgraded the kernel yourself.

|Yes.  Sometimes, I have to:
|
|  modprobe sound
|  ln -s /dev/sound/dsp /dev/dsp
|
|to get it working.
