Hi, It seems that kernel 2.4.13 has corrected the supermount support, you may want to try it. I installed it a couple of days ago and I haven't detected any problem yet, with or without devfs.
I still have to do a trick for X windows to detect my PS2 mouse, going to text mode and back to graphical mode. But mount and supermount works fine so far.
