Well, my epson is working fine. I'm using cups, but if you use pdq as your
spooler you will have the option of killing a print job immediately. I set
it up during one install of the betas and it puts an icon on the desktop when
printing to hit if you want to stop it. But I really don't think there is a
big problem with cups as this is the first time I didn't have to tweak
setting to get descent printing from my epson. Maybe you could rerun
printerdrake and re-set it up. Mine did nothing during the install and I too
thought printing was still fscked, but I ran printerdrake after install and
all is fine.

True, they have been having problems with supermount for a while and thus is
disabled by default. However you can enable it yourself and many have
reported it works fine. I have enabled mine and it works fine. you know the
command right? supermount -i enable

I'm using the 1541 straight from nvidia and they were flawlessly. What seems
to be your problem? I got the deprecated this and that during compile, but
they still work fine. There is also a couple of sites with help for the
stubborn systems with driver tweaks and embellishments for 8.1:

Also, I have found that I have to change the agp default option of 3 to 1 in
my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. Otherwise, my X hangs/freezes during login. This
is nvidia's change not mandrake's. I just had to put this:
Option "NvAGP" "1"
under graphics device section options.

Well, that was uncalled for. :-) However, I have come to realize that each
new version mandrake puts out there is an adjustment period. I have to learn
how to do things all over again. Such is the price for bleed edge
technology. I happen to think it is a GREAT version and worthy of compliment.

Ummm, nope. I have already donated and will probably buy the power pak too.
Thank you.

That's your choice. But I think you need to calm down, start addressing your
problems, and ask for help instead of crying all over town about mandrake sux.
