After having tried samba 2.2.1a on our server with 65 clients, I must say:
be careful. One of our developers have now found an error in the final
2.2.1a that causes samba client processes to crash all the time. It has
something to do with memory initialisation. He said it has been fixed in
the head-branch of 2.2.2, so the samba-team is aware of the problem.

But however 2.2.1a is still unstable in my oppinion...I won't recommend it
for production use. If you're running 2.2.1a, try to do the following:

grep -i panic /var/log/samba/*

Most of the times the users wont experience anything when these crashes
occours, as it reconnects automatically. But once in a while, you will get
corrupted flies.

I will wait for the 2.2.2 :(
