Hi all,

I flashed my bios, and now when I boot the system.. it gets most of the
motherboard drivers wrong...

ie its really slow, and if I look in harddrake.. it now has 3 via
technologies entries in there..

two are describled as "unknown" and the third is VT82c686(Apollo Super ACPI

Under bridge there is the same entry except without ACPI at the end...

I don't recall there being anything in "other devices" before...

anyway things have slowed right down as well which backs up the idea that
there is a problem somewhere...

and my hard drive speed has dropped right down as well...

buffer cache reads 40.51mb/sec
buffered disk reads 1.30MB/sec

Thats from an IBM 7200rpm 60 gig hard disk on a KT7A mainboard with the
latest bios and a proper 80 cable connector..

also running 2.2.19-4.1mdksecure kernel on Mandrake 7.2

Last time I checked this system, it was getting 37mb/sec on the buffered
disk reads...

There is definatly a problem, but it doesn't look to be a hardware
problem... (everything is less then three months old too. the whole system.)

Any suggestions anyone??
