You must configure your CD-ROM drive with ide-scsi for XCDroast to see it.

Do you have a cable between CD and sound card--should be a small one with a 4 
socket connector for a 4 pin header?  Some recent windows machines replace 
this cable with software, making your CPU do the work of a 12 cent piece of

Are you trying to use nfs and reiserfs on the machine?  That is a sure-fire 
formula for this behavior.  The two do not get along.

Well, NVidia keeps the big part of those drivers very secret, so we cannot 
offer any help.  We do have some in the Boxed sets on the commercial CDs 
which worked last we checked, but they are also licensed to you from NVidia 
without our support.
