Hi all,

I am running Mandrake SNF on a Pentium (I) with 16MB of RAM.
I believe I have 8MB of RAM free while no client computer is connected.
The FW/NAT is connected to my cable company on one hand, and to 3 client
computers on my home network on the other.
Recently I realized I am getting download speeds of 56Kbps, and I remember
before I set up the NAT I had faster access. The cable company also changed
its servers in the mean time.

I'd like to know if my FW/NAT could be the bottleneck or if it is the actual
cable company that is limiting the speed of its users. Could it be that the
specs of this machine are too low? I would think they are ok, since I only
have 3 client computers and they are hardly connected at the same time
ever...

How do I know if it is the NAT server that is the bottleneck (what
performance penalty should I expect?), if it needs more memory, or if it is
the cable company instead?

Thanks,

Gil
