Hello everyone, I have sent this to the newbie list and have not been able to get it working. I have tried civilme's suggestion to hit f1 at splash and type "linux ide=reverse" and to append the ide=reverse when I set up the bootloader and I still receive the following error after install: VFS: cannot open root device "2105" or 21:05 Please append a correct "root=" boot option kernel panic : VFS : unable to mount root fs on 21:05 Here is how I have my WD and Maxtor set-up: Connected to a pci Promise ata 100 card, WD primary master, Maxtor secondary master.The partions look like this during install: 1st / /dev/hde5 2nd swap /dev/hde6 3rd /home /dev/hde7 4th /usr /dev/hde8 5th /tmp /dev/hde9 6th /var /dev/hde10 7th /data /dev/hdg1 As a side note, I have Mandrake 7.2, screwed up Walmart version(yes I know they were replacing this for free and yes I sent the info to Mandrake and never heard from them? ? ?)The setup and boot works fine in 7.2 Mandrake and also works with Redhat 7.1. I am at a loss. Any help would be cool and could someone tell me where I can download the two iso's of 7.2 Mandrake, think I may have to downgrade.
