Use expert install and select XFree-3.3.6
Further, tell me of your video card. Some old ones just aren't supported
well by the newest XFree. Once you are installed you need to go to edit
/etc/X11/XF86Config and in the devices section make sure there is a line
Option "sw_cursor"
