I jus tried to boot my Mandrake 8 system and I get the following error: INIT: ID "1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: ID "2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: ID "3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: ID "4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: ID "5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: ID "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes This is then followed by: autologin(pam_unix)[1009] session opened for username by (uid = 0) pam_console[1009] could not open lock file /var/lock/console/username, disallowing console access autologin(pam_unix) session closed for user username by (uid = 0) This continues through about 30 repetitions and returns to the respawning error and starts again. I cannot get into my system. How can I fix this? Thanks, Dennis in Waco
