[expert] xanim doest not work (Can't Open /dev/dsp device)

Hi I am using Mand 8.0 and I tried to use xanim. The video is playing well 
but there is no sound coming.

when I type the command:

xanim ./file.avi

I got the following error message:

XAnim Rev 2.80.0 by Mark Podlipec Copyright (C) 1991-1999. All Rights 
Reserved
Can't Open /dev/dsp device

Do you have any idea what is that? and how to solve it?
