Actually, it's pretty easy to do.
1 - create a file in /etc/X11/wmsession.d - take a peek at the ones there 
for examples, but for xfce, make it look like this

NAME=XFce
ICON=xfce-wmsession.xpm
EXEC=/usr/X11R6/bin/startxfce
DESC=Lightweight desktop environment
SCRIPT:
exec /usr/X11R6/bin/startxfce

2 - as root, run kcontrol, pick the login manager icon on the left, then 
the sessions tab on the right. Type XFCE into the session type box, then 
click the add new button.
