One thing is the media (CD or DVD), and one other is the file system
format of what is in the media. You can have a DVD with an iso filesystem,
a DVD with an UDF filesys (that everyone thinks is the only one because
commercial DVDs come that way), an ext2 fs or what you like.
I have not tried, but perhaps you can also have an UDF fs on a CD ?.
