Hi have a home network setup, two computers each with a single NIC. A crossover cable. I can ping and telnet between them fine. I want to share a dialup connection on one machine. Can I use the single NIC with the same IP as the gateway, or do I define another IP for the same card and call this the gateway? Is it easier just to install another NIC in this machine and give it an IP number? Can this be eth1? If so, on a dialup connection, does the second NIC plug into anything? I plan to use pmfirewall to share connections and do IPchains, etc. The other machine will eventually do duel boot with linux and win98, so I plan to install SAMBA also. Any help appreciated.
