Dear Alan: Thanks so much for such a prompt response. The problem is that when I log out of KDE, I am faced with my $ user prompt. My options are a) to su to root or to type startx. In other words, how do I bring up the text "login" menu so I can type the user name and password for user B. That's what I can't figure out. Would appreciate your help.
