I'll take a wild guess here and say that you gave your printer a different name when you set it up rather than 'lp'. 'lp0' refers to the parallel port itself, and not the printer proper. If your printer is named something other than 'lp' which is the default that lpr looks for, then you must specify the printer name like this: 'lpr -P<printername>', i.e. on my home setup: 'lpr -Plaserjet' Take some time and read the man page for lpr.
