The usual place is in /usr/sbin.  But if you installed sendmail from an
RPM, it is already installed where it should be.  A normal user has no
reasion to run sendmail, and the functions a normal user would use are
covered by symlinks to sendmail using different names.

The /sbin and /usr/sbin are not on a normal user's path, and most of the
programs in these directories are not of much use if you do not nave root
privilages.

Just about all major packages have a standard location in the unix file
system, and you do not want to relocate them without having a good
reasion.  You can break scripts by moving programs, and it can be hard
finding the problem when you do this.
