Hi Ronald, You might need to use a combination of the virtusertable and aliases to generate the e-mail back to the sender. It can be done but may be slightly tricky. You may want to check out http://www.sendmail.org/virtual-hosting.html that may give you an idea. They want us (IT) to accept a message from B.com, processes it, gen a new email message to sender telling him/her that [EMAIL PROTECTED] has moved to A.com my hands are tied here, they want what they want and I have cant do jack about it trust me, I had the "long" talk with the boss that ended in the normal "I want this, so make it happen" type crap -Ron -----Original Message----- From: Dave Lers [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, August 14, 2000 11:09 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [expert] sendmail On Mon, 14 Aug 2000, Yacketta,Ronald J wrote: > the MX records of domain B will point to my linux box, when emails arrive > from domain B I need to beable to generate a message back to the sender > saying that [EMAIL PROTECTED] has moved to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Why not just relay @b.com -> @a.com? What's the point of sending a message back to the sender at this point?, all the sender wants is a reply. If it was needed I'd put a message in the reply sig instead.
