Yes.. I did it.. its very simple to install.. The drivers are basically
OpenGL library files.. so just replace your current ones with the new ones
(just take care of symlinks) and you are done!
The performance is ofcourse much better! Check this site :

Also, www.linuxgames.org had a nice review which showed improved 3D
performance using X4.0.. it showed that the performance of OpenGL was 99%
the performance on Win98.. which considering the fact that the nvidia's
linux drivers are still missing some small features.
