[expert] Permanent modem setup fails??

Hi All;

I have successfuly followed the manufacturers instructions for setting up an
Actiontec modem while in a single logon session.

They say that if the 'setserial ..' commands are inserted at the end of the
/etc/rc.d/rc.local
file, they will be executed whenever the machine is booted.

I have inserted the commands, but they are not executed.  Anyone have
thoughts on this one??
