I do a lot of this, and since I began in windoze, that's where i
continue. The safest bet, is to convert the mp3's to waves (.wav)
and burn them from your HDD. I really don't know about linux
software/FE's to do this, but in Windoze I use a freeware program,
MMWave 2K, to convert the mp3's to waves. It normalizes them
(sort'a tries to equalize the volume) and does it's best to remove
the occasional screeches). Then I use Nero to burn 'em as .cda's
(it does the conversion on the fly). Haven't made a coaster yet,
the audio Cd's I make sound good and play on the oldest, cheapest
junk Cd players I can find.
