[expert] 7.1 network problem

I'm having trouble with a new 7.1 install.  I'm not sure if its a
network config or security configuration
problems, but I can telnet, ping, http..etc out from the machine, but I
cant ping it from anywhere else.
I find this a bit odd.   Any suggestions where to look?
