1.  Buy a book on HTML (I picked up Sam's Teach yourself HTML4 in
24 hours for $5.99 from Borders)
2.  Learn from the book that you
dont need anything more than a text editor to make webpages.  I
use both vi and emacs/xemacs.  I prefer emacs, but it doesnt hurt
to know both editors. 3.  Good Luck!
