Game consoles are a good example. They are made just to play
these games. Nothing else (forget Dreamcaster). So the
designer/manufacturer can leave out other things. So they are
cheap compared to computers.

My impression is that iopener was never made and never meant
to be a full-size computer. It was designed and made to surf on
the web, do your emails and (maybe) use a PIM on it.

Although, leaving out the ESC-key makes me wonder...
