I'm trying to run Mandrake on one of our internal 1400 servers. (shhhhhhh)
Works fine with the SMP kernel -- it detects some NCR SCSI controllers:
ncr53c8xx, ncr53c810a-0, ncr53c896-1, ncr53c896-2 and uses them just fine.

But when I installed the mdk-secure and used the secure initrd, it doesn't find the
ncr device,
but loads the aic7xxx which doesn't know how to deal with the ncr devices (it gets
rather confused)
with the result being that it can't mount the root disk.

So....how/why is the Secure kernel different with respect to devices from the SMP
version?

So far I haven't had great luck in regenerating the mdk secure kernel.

Any ideas?
