Hi Payne
Under Linux, most of the printing is done over "ghostscript". That is, if
you can set-up your printer to work under Linux (in particular: you send
it a postcript document, and it prints it out), all you need to do is use
"generic postscript" printer in any program. I suppose this should hold
for Word Perfect, too.
Somewhat less known fact is that printer-filters on RH or Mandrake system
let the pre-formated data go trough unchanged - that is, if you can
produce a data suitable for direct spooling to your printer, it will be
printed "as is". This is very suitable for samba, since it saves you a
work of setting up "raw printer" or finding a "well-behaved" windows
postscript driwer (Apple-windows PS drivers are rather good, HP is
awfull and it is really awfull that "generic" postscript printer does
not exist under Windoze.).
(Theoretically, it could be also handy if you would have some
graphical program, which would come with its own printer drivers and a
good color-printer, possibly giving a better quality output
than the standard ghostscript-based solution, but I have never tried it.)
