It does, actually. Thank you.
I must admit that I did not look at the 6.0 "updates" directory on the
right mirror site ("updates" was empty). I got it from another site
and it works.

Using LD_PRELOAD instead of LD_AOUT_PRELOAD worked well (before
upgrading samba). The ld.so man page did not mention LD_PRELOAD,
only LD_AOUT_PRELOAD (although I did not like the "AOUT" inside).
Surely, the right fix is the update of samba but I am glad to
know that anyway.
