Hello,
Something weird with a collegue Mandrake 6.0 / Linux box :
the machine totally freezed under KDE, so the colleague had
to hard reboot the box...
The point is that after fsck the files of disk were back to what
they were in the morning. The new file where even not found in
lost+found of the partition.
The weird thing to me is that the colleague saved the files on disk,
and even copyed them to an other directory : everything was looking
fine, but also the copies disapeared after crash...
Isn't it as if no syncing occured since the power up of the box ?
If I remember well, Unixes should sync their buffers periodicaly ?
What process is in charge of that ?
Any idea of what I should check ?
Thanks in advance,
Greetings,
Eric
PS: I added a sync every minute to the empty crontab ;)
