I'm not sure the underlying nmh code understands how to do a getportbyname() to convert that to 587.... What works for me: In .mh_profile: send: -nomime -msgid -server smtp.gmail.com -port 587 -tls -sasl -user val...@vt.edu And in .netrc: machine smtp.gmail.com login val...@vt.edu password **obfuscated**
