I also still use glimpse, for lack of a better option.

(No, 'find' or 'grep -E' won't do for my mail volume. I really need 
 some kind of index.)

Oh, let me just toss "IMAP" in there ;-) (it'd really be nice to be 
 able to get to my mail store from my mobile phone without resorting to
 shell + nmh directly).
