Hi all,
I'm sure a simple question - where do you configure the address used
in the SMTP "MAIL FROM" command when bounce messages are generated?
You do not.
In my setup, bounce messages are being rejected because the MAIL FROM
at SMTP time is empty.
A mail system that rejects "MAIL FROM:<>" is not speaking standard SMTP.
Its probably obvious, but not to me unfortunately....
The SMTP standard REQUIRES that the MAIL FROM argument be null (<>) on
any messages generated by the mail system itself. This includes bounce
messages. The purpose of this is to make bounce loops impossible.
