It can't/won't log any connection attempt, that does not lead to an error or action ( auth i.e. ).

The internet scanners i.e. check if the port is open and some of them check if it speaks a certain SSL dialect.
This may or may not be in your logs, but it still produces traffic.

About how much missing "traffic" do we actualy speak?
