Development of pine at the University of Washington ended a good
few years ago. Pine's replacement is alpine. This was a project
started at the University of Washington and development is now
actively continued elsewhere.

The latest alpine source can be cloned from a git repository:

 git clone http://repo.or.cz/alpine.git

See:

for the developer's current thoughts on this header check issue with
alpine.
