Figured put my problem. I run two instances of Exim on my server hosting two
ips/domains. Had it like this for years and it was setup so that only one
instance runs the queue (the primary one). But after my upgrade to debian 8 I
guess something changed and both instances were pulling from the spool. The log
entries were showing up in another log file.
Its all cleared up now, both instances will run their own spool directory with
complete segregation.
While I have it working, its kind of kludgy. Does anybody know of a good site
describing how to run two instances of exim4 on the same server?

And the message is question *is* delivered? Or just disappeared from your
spool? Some other process removing message from the spool?

So the message log of delivered messages is complete? Or isn't complete?
Check $spool_directory/msglog/

Do you see them containing just that single dot? Or is this a result of the
obfuscation?
