*Location: Remote*
*Job Duties*
- Ensure functionality, accessibility and security of the Tableau
platform.
- Assist in patching and upgrade tasks of Tableau and other BI
platforms.
- Setup and monitor system backup and recovery procedures.
- Tableau server utilization patterns for users, dashboards usage, and
Extracts.
- Tracks and reports system performance metrics based on tableau usage.
- Monitors, analyzes system performance for optimal performance on a
daily basis.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and provide recommendations/fixes for
identified issues.
- Recommends and implements continuous improvement and automation of BAU
tasks.
- Encourage various teams on adoption of Tableau ‘best practices’ across
the company.
- Reviews troublesome workbooks and datasources and provides suggestions
to users for improvements.
- Interfaces with Tableau developers and provides support for publishing
and troubleshooting Tableau components.
- Interfaces with Tableau support to troubleshoot any product issues and
enhancements.
- Interfaces with storage, server, authentication, database and other
teams to support ongoing operations in BI and Database operations.
- Executes actions necessary to achieve and maintain optimum
Tableau platform
performance, reliability and availability of tableau systems.
- *Skill * *Requirements*:
- Hands on Experience on Tableau Architecture for Tableau 2018.x/2019.x
- Advanced knowledge of Tableau Server platform and server-side
functionalities.
- Experience on Tableau Administration including Install and upgrade in
a distributed enterprise environment.
- Advanced knowledge of performance diagnosis and optimization.
- Be able to analyze system resource utilization, bottlenecks and plan
platform capacity sizing.
- Experience using tabcmd/tsm command-line utilities.
- Ability to recommend best practices of development and critique design
approaches
- Experience with design & development of Workbook Dashboards, and Data
Sources through Tableau Desktop
- Experience with automation for tasks like deployment of
datasources/workbooks across environment, alerts via scripting.
- Experience with the inner workings of Tableau Admin Views and
familiarity with workgroup tables.
- Experience in previous administrator of other Business Intelligence
platforms like OBIEE/Business Objects is highly preferred.
- Excellent Communication, Documentation and Presentation skills
- At least 4 years of focused Tableau administration experience and
total 6 years of Tableauexperience.
- 7 years of professional experience directly related to all aspects of
Tableau and other BI tools.
- Experience querying databases for dashboard performance and data
discrepancy troubleshooting.
- Experience with Administration of OBIEE\DNB\BOBJ a plus.
- Hadoop\Postgres\HANA Database administration experience is Plus.
