*Job Title: Splunk Administrator*

*Location: Austin, TX*

*Duration: 6 months+ contract *

*Visa: ALL (NO OPT, CPT & Transfers)*



*Job Description*

In the role of Splunk Admin, you will be responsible for a providing the
logged information to other business units in a way that allows one to
resolve issues in the most reasonable timeframe the data allows for.
Additionally, you will need to work with other team members and business
units in the creation and refinements of those log sources.



*Required*

•             3+ year of experience in IT Operations/Production and/or IT
Operations/Production support

•             5+ year of experience in Splunk

1.            Preferably 3+ years of those years in large scale environments

2.            3+ years as a full Splunk admin with the full spectrum of
Splunk duties

•             Strong understanding of logging infrastructure and how
information is generated. (Especially in Linux environments)

•             Strong understanding of Splunk infrastructure in both
clustered and non-clustered environments

•             Understanding of basic Linux commends, and the ability to add
to this knowledge quickly as the need arises

•             Strong understanding of building Sourcetypes and the regex
involved.

•             Expert knowledge on the Splunk Query language

•             Expert knowledge on the Splunk Dashboards and the typs of
panels they use

•             Expert knowledge on the Splunk Alerts / Saved Searches /
Reports

•             Expert knowledge on trouble shooting Splunk issues in a high
stress production environment

•             Knowledgeable enough to write and/or troubleshoot bash and
other scripting languages as the need arises.

•             An understanding that the job being performed is dynamic
enough that you will have to professionally adapt challenges, situations,
and problems that are not foreseeable.

Preferred

•             Strong documentation & reporting skills

•             Excellent Communication
