*Job Description*
Responsible for 24/7 network and disaster recovery operation which includes
new builds, maintenance, and configuration of servers, routers, Firewalls,
switches, print servers, wifi devices, Microsoft security patches and
upgrades to troubleshoot connectivity issues through completion. Backups
and Restore, firewall and VPN. Experience in TCP/IP protocol suite and OSI
Model, implementation of DNS and DHCP protocols. networking features such
as Networking (firewall, dnsetc), web technologies (XML, HTTP, ASP, SQL,
Perl) and technical skill in VB, VBScript, Java Script Unix / Linux.
Excellent technical and project management skills combined with strong
communication skills. Diagnose problems.
*Responsibilities*
- Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining network systems
- Ensures network integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing
appropriate software and hardware solutions for Network Devices
- Uses network management tools to monitor and tune the network and to
discover and solve network issues.
- Conducts routine network hardware and software audits to ensure
compliance with established policies and configuration guidelines.
- Updates network documentation.
- Implements various minor projects that enhance network availability,
security and data integrity.
- Troubleshoots problems with network outages, peripherals, software
applications and operating systems within established standards and
guidelines.
- Cisco Firewall Setup and Administration.
- Work with Juniper & Cisco switches and routers, some experience with
Palo Alto is a plus
- In depth knowledge of all routing protocols (For example: BGP, EIGRP,
OSPF, GLBP, VRF), Traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN, multicast & class of
service.
- Ensures the availability of applications that require network services.
- Experience with L2/L3 Switches including Advanced Routing Protocols
Experience with Firewalls, VPNs, and Security standards
- Works with vendor engineers and technicians to resolve technical
network problems.
- Assists in maintaining LAN/WAN computer connectivity throughout the
network.
- Develops processes and procedures for ongoing management of the
network environment.
- Assesses functional needs to determine IT purchase requirements.
- Collaborates with faculty, staff and other IT groups in order to
support the overall goals of the organization.
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and
follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite.
- Familiar with ISCSI and Fiber Channel SAN Technology, adding LUNS to
servers, etc.
- Network documentation updates, including network diagramming with
Visio, Gliffy, et al.
- Working knowledge of VoIP and SIP
- Experience with equipment hands-on in a datacenter environment.
Rack/stack/cabling/installation and build-out.
*Qualifications:*
- Bachelor degree in computer science, a related technical degree or
equivalent
- 7+ year’s of experience delivering complex technical solutions
including planning, development, implementation and support with respect to
Network Installation, Congfiguration and Administration.
- Ability to lead a project in Design, Implementation, and up to closure
- includes Design and Hands on Skills
- Strong Overall Network Architecture Skills
- Product experience in CISCO – (Juniper, HP, or Brocade is a plus)
- Routing – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Redistribution and Route Selection
- Experience in complex MPLS/BGP WAN design and implementation
- Switching – Vlans, Spanning Tree, Port Channels, VPC
- WAN – Optimization (Riverbed), MPLS, Metro Ethernet, Frame Relay, ATM
- Application Delivery – F5, Netscaler, or A10
- Wireless LAN
- Security – Firewall, ACL, VPN, DLP
*Other Required Qualitications*
Minimum of two years consulting experience.
Minimum of one year experience in programming or analytical work.
Experience with troubleshooting Cisco router, switch and/or virtual network
configurations.
Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients'
needs.
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and end users.
Attention to detail on inventory and logistics is important.
Experience with Juniper & Cisco switches and routers, some experience with
Palo Alto is a plus.
Minimum of 4 years Data Center networking expertise.

CCNA certification preferred
