*Must have skills:*

·         10+ years’ experience as an administrator, with deep knowledge in
Redhat & SUSE Linux Systems.

·         Expertise in RHEL 6.x, RHEL 7.x, SUSE 10 & SUSE 11 Systems.

·         Good understanding and workings of configuration management
tools, Redhat Satellite servers, Puppet etc.

·         Design, build and maintain an automated Server Lifecycle
Management platform

·         Experience with analyzing and diagnosing kernel crash/core dumps,
network packet captures and identifying the root cause of problem.

·         Experience with trouble shooting incidents involving compute
resources, network problems, remote storage related problems [SAN, NAS] etc.

·         Experience in BMC BladeLogic Server Automation activities -
Adding Servers, creation / Maintenance of BLCLI or NSH Scripts, Creation of
BL packages, Jobs, Snapshots, Audits etc.

·         Maintenance & enhancement of Enterprise Compliance jobs according
to PCI standards.

·         Good knowledge and understanding of Clustering, Virtualization.

·         Knowledge on automation tools like Puppet / Ansible is an added
advantage.

·         Should have knowledge on automating server provisioning using PXE
and Virtual environment.

·         Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and tune the system
parameters to provide more throughput.

*Good to have skills:*

·         Preferred certification: RHCE, Redhat Satellite

*Key responsibilities:*

Responsible for the installation and monitoring of Linux operating systems
and virtual machine sub-system software, as well as meeting customer needs
related to these environments. Automation is an essential principle the
Linux Engineer will use for offloading standard work.

·         Designs and deploys Linux server hardware and periodically
reviews configurations for optimal performance.

·         Develops processing standards, procedures, and automation for use
by Operations team in a constantly growing and evolving environment.

·         Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

·         BMC BladeLogic Server Automation activities - Adding Servers,
creation / maintenance of BLCLI or NSH Scripts, Creation of BL packages,
Jobs, Snapshots, Audits etc..

·         Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated
approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that
leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

·         Managing Cisco UCS & Dell Server Hardware environment.

·         Managing NAS and SAN environment, Storage allocation and
de-allocation projects

·         Patch catalog update on the RH satellite & SUSE repository and
handover to operations for patching activities.

·         Participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation, providing level 3
escalations and project work.

·         Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and
resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk
partitions as required.

·         Configure, maintain and managing of Veritas Cluster environment
and POC testing of Redhat Cluster environment.

*·*         Working with other infrastructure teams including networking,
database administration and hosted solution teams for outage resolution, as
well as customers aligned with the business users of our plant to determine
scope, impact, and appropriate resolution path
