*Contract Long term* JD- immediate opening for a Sr Java/Python Engineer. Your skills are needed to assist a large financial institution located in downtown Chicago, IL 60605. In this role you will work with the Regulatory Group end-users in designing and developing monitoring systems and data analysis applications, based on the trading & market activities, for internal company or external market regulations compliance or investigative purposes. The position includes design / development in web-based technologies that integrate with the NASDAQ SMARTS Trade Surveillance package for regulatory surveillance of securities transactions (trades). On the front-end, you will work with a proprietary Java based distributed middleware / server component framework and Oracle PL/SQL scripting on the back-end. This opportunity requires an individual to have very good leadership and interpersonal skills along with strong problem solving, data analysis, software systems design and end-user interaction skills. Expertise in Java and Python are expected as well as exposure to NASDAQ SMARTS Trade Surveillance package or other regulatory surveillance systems.
