one of our client. Below is the brief description about the role.



*Job Title          : IBM DB2 Developer     *

*Job Description:*

·         Creating physical data models using ER Studio 8.5 and 9.5.
Created Entity Relationship (ER) diagrams based on requirements.

·         Ultimate responsibility for the physical database design·
Generating and implementing DDL for several projects from the logical model
using ER studio Data modeling.

·         Establish the engagement road map in discussion with the customer
towards improving and optimizing existing processes·

·         Set up Q Replication environment on various test environments and
provide support to set up in production setup.

·         Build Unidirectional/Bidirectional subscriptions, publications
for new tables and handle impacts to existing subscriptions for DB Changes·

·         Resolve and fix Q Replication issues using OMVS and ISHELL
environments·

·         Providing support in handling Queue replication, publication
errors like QApply and QCapture Tasks down and Subscription issues.

·         Coordinating with the development team for coding SQL stored
procedures, coordinating with application team for SQL Optimization, SQL
Analysis and Streamlining.

·         Perform tuning and optimization of complex SQL queries using BMC
Performance manager.

·         Query Optimization for improving the performance.

·         Identifying the objects which can lead CPU saves.

·         Involved in creating secondary indexes for efficient access of
data Based on the requirements·

·         Provided support in handling database related errors and database
down and connectivity errors.

·         Resolving the dead lock errors that occurred due to dependency of
jobs running simultaneously.

·         Responsible for performance tuning analysis and Monitoring of
Database performance using Performance Monitor tool.

·         Responsible for backup and logging/recovery policy.

·         High availability table alters using BMC recover plus and BMC log
master apply plus jobs·

·         Implemented different kind of purging techniques to free up space
in databases and to remove orphan records from collection tables.

·         Set up purge reorg jobs to remove obsolete data and to ensure
tables are not exceeding the space it was designed·

·         Involved in capacity planning and space management.

·         Worked on space estimate and tablespace design to accommodate
large amount of data in data warehouse environment.

·         Identifying the objects which can lead to disk saves.

·         Working on DB2 version upgrades on Z O/S

·         Altering the standard tables or tablespaces to support new
features of DB2 during version upgrade
