DevOps can be a little confusing based on where the role sits. This roles
sits on the software engineering side of the house, so they need someone
that has development skills. This is more DEVops vs devOPS, with the latter
being more on the infrastructure side of the house. The most important
skills for this role are development skills, in addition to Azure and VSTS.
If you have a good development background, you can learn the MS tools if
you have not used them take a look and please let me know your feedback.



This will be part Azure infrastructure engineering, part VSTS
administration, part tools and automation and part software development. A
great position for someone who likes to wear many different hats.

short summary:



·         In MS VSTS, manage build and release pipelines for software
packages.

·         Provice guidance to developers on best practices around managing
their own pipelines.

·         Contribute design guidance and implementation around Azure PaaS
(ASE, Application Service Plans, Azure App Services, Azure Function Apps,
etc.)

·         Provide guidance, implementation and technical leadership around
APM on the Microsoft Application Insights platform, and infrastructure
performance monitoring using tools such as MS OMS and Azure Monitor.

·         Work with development teams to best leverage APM to increase
software product quality, performance and telemetry.

·         Migrated source control from Clearcase to VSTS

   - Agile DevOps experience
   - Experience with large, complex and highly scalable systems
   - ALM and DevOps tool experience (Visual Studio Team Services preferred)
   - Programming and scripting experience, Process Automation
   - Git and GitFlow, Source code strategy
   - Continuous integration and delivery experience
   - Automated Testing (Unit, Integration, Functional)


   - Cloud Development and Deployment (Azure PaaS preferred)
   - Hosting and operations management and monitoring

into the Azure PaaS environment. To facilitate a quicker move into the new

core tenets include the move to VSTS, developing continuous deployment, and
developing the automated testing framework needed to facilitate this move.

*What You'll Do:*
As a Sr DevOps Engineer, the primary responsibility of this role is to
design, build, deploy, and maintain automation scripts and tools in
multi-cloud and multi-tenant environments. You will work collaboratively
with other team members to:

   - Write and review scripts, templates, interfaces, and utility
   applications to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments
   - Build and manage Azure cloud platform services (PaaS)
   - Build fully automated and complex continuous delivery pipelines.
   - Administer all aspects of the ALM platform: source control, work
   items, users, permissions, etc.
   - Research, evaluate, and develop new tools to improve product
   development efficiency.
   - Recommend and document standards and best practices including capacity
   planning, recovery strategies, and security for supported areas
   - Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues. Effective
   escalation of same to mid- and senior-level engineering teams for full
   resolution
   - Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring
   issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
   - Mentor more junior staff in automation solutions, including
   involvement in the formulation of a structured training plan

*Qualifications:*

   - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
   - Cloud Development and Deployment (Azure PaaS preferred)
   - A passion for DevOps and an appreciation for Continuous
   Integration/Deployment
   - Outstanding programming and problem-solving skills


   - Experience with large, complex and highly scalable systems
