*Job Description:*

 *Responsibilities/Activities:*

§  Develop Hadoop ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes of critical data
for use in front-end user analytical/visualization tools using the
following technologies:

o   Spark / Spark Streaming

o   Scala

o   HiveQL

o   Kafka

o   Sqoop

o   Ranger

o   Other relevant Hadoop technologies

§  Provide Hadoop configuration and performance tuning expertise

o   Hadoop flavor is Hortonworks

o   Configuration dashboard is Ambari

o   Database is HIVE

        §  Exploring the Druid product as well

§  Ensure code is properly tested and meets established standards.

§  Practice established development disciplines such as good code
management, branching and merging of code in a GIT repository

§  Ensure code performs adequately to meet customer expectations.

§  Ensure developed processes are running successfully and within allotted
timeframes.

§  Provide support for, troubleshoot and patch existing processes.

*Experience:*

§  4-year degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent experience required

§  3+ years as a Hadoop Developer with deep experience in Hive and Spark

§  Demonstrated expertise in Scala

§  Relevant experience and expertise in Spark Streaming and Kafka

§  Must have strong SQL skills, with relevant experience in Hive HQL

§  Must have worked on Hive ACID tables (Transactional tables) with a good
understanding of the way they work

§  Experience in Python, Sqoop, Oozie, Ranger a plus

§  Experience in performance tuning Hive tables required

§  Experience in the configuration of YARN, MapReduce for performance,
security is a plus

§  Experience with GIT code repository a plus

§  3+ years in Data Warehousing, including specific knowledge of Star
Schemas is required, unless other relevant data warehousing experience can
be demonstrated

§  Upstream Oil & Gas industry experience is a plus
