I tried taking a look at it, but there were too many questions to address in
the time I had available.I can try to describe SOME of questions.
Keep in mind that YOU know what you're attempting to do, YOU know what the data
means and YOU know what you want your report to look like.WE can only spend
time guessing, only to have you disappointed and seeking a revision.Another
point is, most of the people you're seeking help from are not in the same
business that you are.So, terms that are commonplace to you, may not have the
same meaning for others.
I've never done "bookings".I don't know what is involved or what kind of
reports are required.
So, you said:Right now am working in on  report in which I have to count the a
particular date in multiple sheets & am doing it by using the function -
Countifs and the i have to write a long formula for it.
Another one issue is to extract total amount of bookings in current week in
multiple sheets.

So, it SOUNDS like you are trying to do two things:1) Count the occurrences of
a particular date on multiple sheets2) total the amount of "bookings" in the
"current week" from the sheets.
In your sample file, you have two sheets which have some data, which I "assume"
are what you are calling "bookings".You also have a sheet called
"Consolidated", which seems to be where you've specified a date, and used the
countif() function to count the presence of the date in the other two sheets.
How many sheets will you have in the final report? If you're just dealing with
12 (one for each month of a year)I'd be inclined to stay with using countif()
and sumif() functions.
What day of the week does your "current week" start on?The first entry in the
"Dec 13" sheet is for July 16, 2013.  This was a Tuesday.so, are you looking
for total entries from Monday, July 15 to Sunday, July 21?
As I said, if your situation is that you'll only have 12 sheets in the
workbook,I'd consider simply creating a matrix of sheets and total them
individually.
Like the attached. You only need to add the sheet names to row 2 and copy the
formulae in rows 3 and 4.If you need a total, then simply add them.
If I've totally missed your point, I'm sorry.
