*Location:  Irving, TX*

A nationwide industry leader is seeking a VMWare Vsphere Engineer for a 6
month contract with a strong possibility of extension or possible
conversion located in Irving, TX.



*Qualifications:*

ü  3-5 years of production support experience in *a vSphere 5.1/5.5 *enterprise
environment encompassing several thousand VMs, multiple datacenters,
numerous vCenter instances, and several hundred ESXi hosts.

ü  Ability to multi-task and shift workload as priorities may change within
a given workday.

ü  Previous experience with writing operational runbook guides,
installation guides, and VM/ESXi build process documentation.  Maintaining
accurate process / procedural documentation along with Visio Diagrams will
be a consistent requirement as well.

ü  Understand the various vCenter 5.1/5.5 components and be able to
demonstrate previous experience in origination, configuration, and upgrades
of vCenter 5.x components.

ü  Production support experience with vCloud Director 5.1/5.5, vFabric
Application Director 5.x, Hyperic 5.7.x, and vFabric Data Director 2.x is a
plus.

ü  Previous hands-on experience supporting *RHEL 5.x/6.x* and Windows
2008/2012 OSes in a production VMware virtualized environment.

ü  Be able to demonstrate understanding of HA/DRS-enabled ESXi clusters,
Storage DRS Clusters, vMotion, vSwitches, and VM-level snapshot technology.

ü  Previous experience with VM templates and managing the lifecycle of VM
templates.

ü  Ability to define and follow proper troubleshooting steps when presented
with a vSphere-related issue or outage.

ü  Must be proactive with your communication to keep team members /
management team updated with your activities and deliverables and also for
any escalations which you need to request on behalf of yourself or your
customer.   You will encounter communication opportunities with fellow IT
peers, IT management team, customer teams, and vendor resources on an
almost daily basis.

ü  A significant degree of self-sufficiency is expected to manage your
deliverables and ensure they are consistently on-track for timely delivery.

ü  Ability to research and assess VM-level performance problems (vCOPs,
vRO, etc.) and develop a remediation plan to address the resource
constraint.

ü  Previous experience with ServiceNow application for managing incident
and service requests is a plus.

ü  ESXi 6.x / vCenter 6.x , vRealize Automation 6.x, and vRealize
Operations 6.x are all products on our near-term roadmap so candidates
possessing production support experience in these products will receive
preference.
