Hi, I am trying to use this macro to strip and sort my company page followers. I am not technical but found this and have tried to get it to work for me.
It appears to start working then it just stops and I have lost lots of my data I have four files that I need to run micro in then merge the results. All it appears to do is add in a new column A with a number for each record. Sub Macro1() Range("A1").Select lastRow = LastRowIndex(ActiveSheet, 1) Do While ActiveCell.Row < lastRow ActiveCell.Select Selection.RowHeight = 49.5 Selection.Offset(1, 0).Select Selection.Delete Shift:=xlUp Selection.Delete Shift:=xlUp Selection.Offset(3, 0).Select Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove Selection.Offset(1, 0).Select lastRow = LastRowIndex(ActiveSheet, 1) Loop ' AutoFit Column Width Cells.Select With Selection .VerticalAlignment = xlBottom .WrapText = False .Orientation = 0 .AddIndent = False .IndentLevel = -1 .ShrinkToFit = False .ReadingOrder = xlContext .MergeCells = False End With Selection.Columns.AutoFit ' Insert a column Columns("A:A").Select Selection.Insert Shift:=xlToRight, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove ' Insert record numbers Range("A1").Select i = 1 Selection.Value = i Do While ActiveCell.Row < lastRow i = i + 1 Selection.Offset(5, 0).Select Selection.Value = i Loop 'clear last row Selection.ClearContents End Sub Function LastRowIndex(ByVal w As Worksheet, ByVal col As Variant) As Long Dim r As Range Set r = Application.Intersect(w.UsedRange, w.Columns(col)) If Not r Is Nothing Then Set r = r.Cells(r.Cells.Count) If IsEmpty(r.Value) Then LastRowIndex = r.End(xlUp).Row Else LastRowIndex = r.Row End If End If End Function hope someone can help me.
